Managing Replication Sources
Replication sources send replicated data to theQ-Cloud Protect设备。
Tasks
You can perform the following tasks to manage the cloud appliance's allowed replication sources:
- From theConfiguration, menu selectReplicationto display theReplication Target and Source Systemspage.
- Review the following information in theSource Systemslist:
Column
Description
Source
The IP address of the source system that is allowed to send data to the cloud appliance.
Actual Data Received
The amount of data actually received over the network during replication.
Average Receive Rate
The average receive rate in MB/s of data received over the network during replication.
actual size of data sent over the networkamount of time required to complete replication
Note:The statistics in theSource Systemslist are for each source, rather than a cumulative total for all sources as is displayed on theHomepage.
Additional Navigation Tips
You can customize the appearance of theSource Systemslist in the following ways:
- To collapse or expand the list, click the top banner row of the list.
- To sort the rows in the table by column, click the arrow to the right of a column heading and selectSort AscendingorSort Descending.
- To show or hide a column, click the arrow to the right of a column heading, and then clickColumns. Select the check box to show a column, or clear the check box to hide a column.
Add a system to the list of replication sources to allow it to send replicated data to the cloud appliance.
You must add a source system to the list of allowed replication sources on the cloud appliance before you configure the source system to send replicated data to the target. The cloud appliance can receive replicated data from 1 source system.
Additional Information
- For more information about working with received snapshots, seeManage Incoming Replication Activities for NAS SharesorManage Incoming Replication Activities for VTL Partitions.
- It is typical for the target system to require additional storage space for replicated data initially because it does not delete out-of-date data until replication is complete. For optimal performance, we recommend keeping the amount of free storage space on the cloud appliance at 20% or more. SeeReviewing Storage Statistics.
Add a replication source
- From theSource Systemlist, select the source system to delete.
- Click删除.
Note:When a source system is deleted from the list, its contribution to the cumulative totals on theHomepage are not removed until you clearReceivestatistics. SeeControlling Replication Traffic and Statistics.
During scheduled or manual data replication, the cloud appliance receives a snapshot from the source system. A snapshot contains all data necessary to fully recover or failback a NAS share or VTL partition to the point in time when the snapshot was saved.
云设备可以保留32快照for each replicated share or partition. When the maximum number of snapshots have been saved, the oldest snapshot is deleted to make room for each new snapshot that is received.
From theSource Systemslist, select the number of snapshots to retain for each replication share or partition in theMaximum Snapshotsdrop-down list.
The default value is 10. The maximum value is 32.
Note:Retaining more than the default number of snapshots will use additional storage space on the cloud appliance, which will cause it fill up more quickly.
